Kolber started her career as a journalist in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She received an award for a local Sports Emmy during her tenure with WTVJ-TV which is located in Miami. She worked for WPLG-TV, Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. She was selected to be anchor of ESPN2 in 1993 when it first launched.
